Ben/I headed out for home by highway on Dec. 29th. We got up early-around 4:30 a.m.-and were out the door by 5:30 a.m. It was bitter sweet to leave. As much as we love visiting/seeing everyone, it’s always exhausting. We were ready to go home, but we still had an adventure awaiting us.
We spent all day on the road with many stops/breaks. Hannah was a great sport through it all, and really only got fussy towards the end of the first day-and then most of the second day. I was impressed though, because she was content for a good 10 hrs. of driving before really being over the whole-trapped in a seat w/nowhere to go. Our car was packed beyond packed! I’m talking room enough to only sit. Every spare section of the car was taken up by either b-day/Christmas gifts. Ben spent the better 1/2 of the day before/after the party rearranging things in order for everything to fit. Hannah truly was blessed this year!
The entire trip consisted of us listening to “Tad” talk to us in English/Spanish (a leap frog toy that Hannah got from Tim/Jen), a peek-a-boo game w/Hannah’s new build-a-bear bunny named Hannah Banana (again-Thanks Tim/Jen), and sleeping. We stayed at a Holiday Inn Express over night, and cont. on the next day. We were all ready to get home, and so excited to fianlly see our curb!
Now reality hit-home! Auh-we’ve got to get our car fixed! Ben’s dad had accidentally hit it during the trip. Auh-we need to go grocery shopping-no groc.! AUHHHHH-We need to unpack!!!!! Yeah-we still have stuff in our dining area that has yet to leave that space. I’ve given Hannah a new toy to play with everyday we’ve been home, and I’ve still got a large mound of stuff to put away/find a space for. Auhhhh-blessings!
